The Lights are On!
Each and every year Oglebay holds their Winter Festival of Lights – a beautiful display of Christmas lights stretching over a six-mile span and featuring 89 lighted attractions. I can say from experience that is it truly a sight to see and a must see if you are in the area around the holidays.
The tradition began in 1986. Since then it has grown into one of the largest light shows in the country, attracting more than a million visitors each year! The festival has become national recognized from publications and travel expert website.
New to the collections this year includes a Christmas Chameleon, made up of 450 lights that change right before your eyes! The Chameleon structure was inspired by the Chameleons at the Oglebay Good Zoo. If that wasn’t enough, we are also rolling out a 24 foot tall Kaleidoscope Christmas Tree displaying 1,800 lights.
Favorites and long-time festival fixtures include our Rainbow Tunnels, Dinosaurs, Disney characters, Snoopy and friends and Willard the Snowman!
